What is ENERGYWATCH?
Energywatch is the independent gas and electricity watchdog.
It was set up in November 2000 through the Utility Act to protect
and
promote the interests of all gas and electricity consumers.
Phone 0845 9060708.
They provide free, impartial information and advice
and take up complaints on behalf of consumers who are experiencing
difficulty in resolving
problems directly with their energy company.
They gather intelligence through their complaint
handling process to develop a real understanding of the issues
affecting consumers and their
impact on their everyday lives. In this way they are able to
highlight issues (through campaigns) of the greatest concerns
affecting consumers, and
they will if necessary name and shame the offending companies
by using the consumer experience to illustrate the human cost
of corporate failings.
Energywatch works closely with the Regulator
Offgem to ensure that company performance issues are monitored
and where appropriate, the
evidence is provided to trigger investigations and/or enforcement
action.
They have also formed close parnerships with a range of caring
organisations and advice-giving bodies.
They work constructively with companies, initiating
changes to their policies, processes and systems that will make
them more responsive to the
needs of their customers.
Have
a
look at the whole picture objectively, use an impartial online
price
comparison tool. The results are displayed
in a table to make comparisons easy. Switching data is updated
regularly and can give you a comprehensive guide to
the best and worst suppliers for your area. Switching suppliers
need not be a long, complicated process.
